June 23rd, Saturday, Fish-with-a- Friend for Smallmouth/Bigmouth Bass on the Shenandoah River

Join Bill Hobson, our host, for our Fish With a Friend outing on the North Fork/South Fork of the Shenandoah River for Small & Large Mouth Bass – and others as appropriate,  June 23rd.  Plan to meet at 8:00 am at Rt 55 & 522 in Front Royal at the Big Lots parking lot.  Bring water, snacks, insect repellent, rod outfit, leaders, flies & wading gear – although, you can probably wet-wade.

  • Location: 8am@Front Royal-Route 55/522/Big Lots-
  • Flies: Bring poppers, wooly buggers, crawfish imitations, & wading stick.

June 16th, “Special Love” Camp Event – need Chapter Volunteers!!!!

Once again, our Chapter’s Coordinator, Bill Hobson is leading our Chapter’s volunteer efforts for these Special Love Camp events – please, contact Bill at willhobson@alol.com if you can assist – as always, your support is appreciated!!  We were “bested” by the Northern Virginia Chapter at the April 14th camp by a margin of 7 to 1 in Chapter volunteers – this activity is clearly one of our more important education, outreach, and public conservation efforts…Please mark your calendar and help the kids and families involved, as well as Bill, the Chapter, and Trout Unlimited…Appreciate It!!!

Join Kevin Daniels, our host, for our Fish With a Friend outing on Jeremy’s Run, Thursday, May 31sth.  Plan to meet at the NE intersection of routes 340 & 211 in Luray, VA at 9 AM.  Bring water, snacks, insect repellent, rod outfit, leaders, flies & wading gear.

May 25th, Friday – Fish-With-a-Friend – Upper Jackson River in Western Virginia

Join Andy Holmaas, our host, for our Fish With a Friend outing on the Upper Jackson River, near Monterey VA, Friday  May 25th.  Plan to meet at 1676 Jackson River Road, Monterey VA, (about 1.5 miles south of the city itself) 10am.  Bring water, snacks, insect repellent, rod outfit, leaders, flies & wading gear.

May 2, 2012–Rapidan TU Chapter Meeting

Join us at our chapter meeting May 2, 2012, at the Sun Trust Bank in Warrenton.  Many of us are meeting early at Fang’s Thai restaurant at 6:00 for diner and a pre-meeting discussion regarding some of the Chapter’s proposed candidate streams for a conservation effort – we’re meeting with our meeting’s speakers, Steve Owens and Paul Bugas of DGIF – feel free to share this time with us if you care to.  Our regular meeting will begin at 7:30 PM, and Steve and Paul will be discussing the eastern brook trout joint venture and it’s status.  Look forward to seeing you there.

May 2nd (Wed) Fish With A Friend – Rapidan River

Join Marcia Woolman for our Fish With a Friend outing on the Rapidan River, May 2nd (Wed.)  Plan to meet at the Junction Pool (1st pool you can pull off at on the left on the road to Hoover Camp) at 10 AM.  Bring water, snacks, insect repellent, rod outfit, leaders, flies & wading gear.

    • Location: 10am@ Junction pool.
    • Bring dry flies (Adams, Mr. Rapidan, Royal Wulff, Coachman, etc sizes 12-16) and Bead Head nymphs (Hares Ear, Pheasant Tail, Prince, etc. sizes 12-16)
