Meeting Minutes 5.4.22

The meeting was called to order by FredK/Pres at 7pm on May 4, 2022 at Ledos pizza/back room in Warrenton, Va. There were 12 members present, including new member James Blake, Kevin Daniels/past Pres., & Joe Ray/past Pres.
After introductions around the room, prizes were raffled off, & winners were AmyO, ChuckH, & JoeC.  At last meeting, it was noted that a motion was made & seconded to donate $100 to Project Mayfly.  Treas.Rpt/JoeC-Balance is $25,338.32.  TIC/ChuckH-We have 26 schools, 30 tanks, and all trout have been released for season.  Fishing Show-ChuckH will check with Highland School after July 1 to confirm fishing show date of February 11, 2023.  FWF/FredK-All had good time shad fishing on Rapp in Fredericksburg, at Mossy Creek outfitters, at Cedar Creek trophy trout, and on Rapidan River.  FWF-May: Bluegills/KyleD-Meet at 7am on May 14 at Crockett Park off Meetze Rd in Warrenton. Green Drake hatch/AndyH(week of 5/23-TBD; meet at 2pm on Route 33 about 5 miles west of Rawley Springs at Dry Run on right side of road). Date will be announced ~1 week in advance.  At April’s events: Buchanan Hall/Upperville(4/9)-Membership, fly tying, & casting-great event; at Ducards Vineyards(4/23)-Membership & fly tying-not so good-windy, sunny, & noisy music.  VCTU/AmyO-Zoom meeting on Monday 5/9.  CampSpecialLove/BillH-Maybe Aug 18?  Fauquier County Parks-TeachingYouthFishing/MaggieB-June 18(11am-12, & 1-2pm). Next edition out in late June.  New Business: Meetings starting next fall will be at the PATH building at 321 Walker Drive. Membership & fly casting event in Middleburg at Dog Daze on May 28 at 11:30 to 12. Marcia is doing fly casting & needs additional rods. FredK will do membership. Any other volunteers, email willowamy@gmail.com.   The speaker was Amy Orr, talking on the preliminary results of VTSSS water sampling done in April 2021 by TU volunteers. There were many good questions & a good flow of information back & forth.  Chapter volunteer hours: April=540,  YTD=540-new fiscal year.  Meeting adjourned at 8pm.
