With sponsorship by the Rapidan Chapter, students at Cedar Lee Middle School, P.B Smith Elementary, Emerald Hill Elementary School, and Highland School received eggs that hatched, then cared for dozens of “baby” trout until of a size permitting release of the fish back into their natural habitat.

TO: ALL RAPIDAN TU MEMBERS
Due to the snow cancellation of the 2010 Rapidan Fishing Show, Chapter members have conducted formal discussions concerning ways to alleviate the current revenue deficit. A popular theme that has gained the Chapter’s attention and approval is for members to donate new and/or used fishing equipment. Your donated item of choice will then be sold during the Heritage Day (Sat. April 3) event at Graves Lodge in Syria, VA. All donated items will be sold and proceeds collected will go to the Rapidan Chapter. The Rapidan Chapter has reserved a special table at the Heritage Day festivities to sponsor this activity. The objective of this sale is to generate as much revenue as possible to offset current shortfalls in Rapidan’s 2010 budget.
WHAT YOU CAN DO: Please look over your stock of fishing equipment and donate items to the Chapter that you no longer use and would like to donate. Items may include, but not limited to: conventional fishing gear/fly fishing gear (rods and reels); clothes, boots, waders; fishing vests and packs; flies (half dozen/dozen with fly box); tools, gadgets, accessories; watercraft of any kind (float tube, etc.). Please make sure all items donated are in good condition as well as good working order for the resale. Read more »
